FAQ
Does Linnworks send multi line and quantity Despatch including splitting quantity?
Yes Linnworks does support multi line despatch and quantity splitting.
- For example if an order had Item A x 10 and Item B x 20
- The seller splits the order in Linnworks into A x 10 and B x 10 in the first part of the split and B x 10 in the second.
- This would create two orders in Linnworks that could be shipped separately and have different tracking numbers.
- If the first part of the order was shipped then we would send only the quantities and lines through ( A x 10 and B x 10) in the request, the remaining 10 would be sent at a later time.
Is there anyway to restrict a seller from splitting orders so that partial dispatches are sent?
There isn't a way to block a seller from splitting orders as it's an important part of the fulfilment process.
In the case where the marketplace / channel does not support line level shipments then the app should either take the first shipment as the whole order is shipped or wait for all shipments to be shipped before confirming the whole order.
Why are there Secondary Tracking numbers?
Linnworks has a feature called split packaging which allows customers to put items in different boxes and generate shipping labels per box. In this case we provide grouped tracking information when shipping orders.
Where possible Linnworks will group shipments together for the same reference number.
